We love our big fat families. We always have somewhere to turn in times of trouble, but it also means that we face a barrage of unsolicited opinions and people in our business at any given moment.

As therapist Rhea Kishnani says, we’re a society that’s fabulous at guilting. You’re made to feel like a selfish person for asking for space and not doing things that are asked of you by your family.

It may feel like the anecdotal advice we see on Instagram about setting boundaries and asking for space doesn't cut it in the Indian family context. But it's possible to set boundaries without feeling like you're getting your teeth drilled without anaesthesia.

We asked experts to share with us some realistic ways in which we can start the process, and more importantly, uphold them without feeling like we're terrible people. Read what they have to say by clicking on linkin.bio/tweakindia in our page description box and tapping on the corresponding image.

If you have successfully created and upheld boundaries, drop a ❤ in the comments and share your advice.
